Electronic resources include any type of electronic/digital or networked resource
whether accessed on campus or accessed off campus. Examples of eResources include:
- periodical and reference databases,
- e-books and e-journals,
- CD-ROMs
Library Databases are licensed for use by currently registered students & employees of George Brown College.
Electronic Databases
Use Electronic Databases to search for articles in
periodicals, research reference sources, or eBook sources. You will find a
complete list of those databases available to members of the George Brown
College community.
Periodical Database
A periodical database contain articles from
magazines, journals, and newspapers. The format may include citations,
abstracts, graphics, or the full-texts of the articles. Click here for

Reference Database
A reference database contain one or more reference works. Typical reference
works include encyclopedia, handbooks, dictionaries, manuals, visual media, and
guides to standards and codes.
E-book Database
An e-book database provide access to thousands of books which you can
either read page-by-page, or search though a book. We subscribe to two major
e-book databases,
NetLibrary and
Xrefer Plus. Other databases can contain
e-books, such as
OVID, which as well as providing access to medical, and
nursing indexes and full-text periodicals, also provide the complete text to 8
key medical, nursing, and pharmacy texts.

Full-Text Periodicals Search
Locate
Full-Text Periodical
titles (print or electronic). Included are
the dates between which the periodical titles are available in full-text either
from an online source, which will connect you immediately to the database, or
the campus location holding a print subscription.

Many of the electronic databases are available from outside the college, using
